Literary Arts Committee Offers Writers Grant

The Literary Arts Committee (LAC) of the Mountain Home Arts Council (MHAC), producers of The Whistle Pig literary journal, is offering $300 in grant funds to a qualified writer or writers. This year's grant funds have been provided by the sale of LAC Broadsides crafted by local artist Tom Bennick and featuring poetry by Frank Monasterio, Kim Monnier, Nancy Martin, and David Scott Freer. The LAC seeks to assist Elmore County Writers with funds to develop their craft. Funds may be applied in any of a variety of ways, which could include fees for workshops, conferences or any valid project the writer is able to justify. Money will not be provided for advertising, publication fees, editing or other service costs. Applicants will be required to answer a short questionnaire and provide a writing sample.
